Description
Mast hoops are commonly used on gaff-rigged sailing boats to allow the sail to slide up and down the mast. They are used in place of a sail track since this would foul the gaff yoke as it slides along the mast.
These authentic traditional mast hoops have been hand-made by the same company for the past 50 years. Bent from straight & clear-grained oak timber, our mast hoops are available to suit a wide range of mast diameters.
Riveted with copper fasteners, the hoops are finished with a mixture of pure linseed oil and gum turpentine. Attach the sail using these bronze sail fasteners.
Note that to install mast hoops without removing the mast and rigging, consider using bolted mast hoops.

Ordering mast hoops: The inside diameter of a mast hoop should be 25% larger than the mast at its widest point.
