PT-305 Restoration Project Nearing Completion

Posted by Mike Watson on 11th Mar 2016

In 2015 Classic Boat Supplies was proud to supply the  National WWII Museum in New Orleans with seven large bronze mushroom vents and two bronze shell vents for their restoration of a of WW2 torpedo attack boat - PT-305.

PT boats were a fast timber boat used by the US Navy in World War 2 for attacking enemy shipping.  Capable of 35-40 knots, they hold a special place in the American psyche. JFK famously commanded PT-109.

After serving in world war 2, PT-305 saw duty in many peacetime roles including time as a tourist boat and also as an oyster boat. The restoration or this 75' vessel has taken around seven years.
